I know I’m not the only person that every Sunday craves Chick-fil-a…you always want what you can’t have right? By far one of my favorite fast food restaurants, Chick-fil-a gives me all the feels. There are so many good memories that come to mind from sipping a tall glass diet lemonade on the beach to stuffing myself with as many nuggets as possible at tailgates.
One of the most vivid memories I have when I think of Chick-fil-a was back when I went on GWT. For those of you that aren’t familiar with this gift from God to every 15-year-old, Grand Western Tour is out of Winston Salem, NC and is a 4 week trip across the country with a bus full of kids your own age and a few chaperones thrown in the mix. It was by far one of the best experiences of my life and I couldn’t be more grateful to have had the opportunity. After basically 4 week of independence and Chick-fil-a deprivation, we were dropped off at a food court for lunch in lets say Atlanta because I don’t remember that part. But, I vividly remember all 52 kids lining up at the Chick-fil-a and not one went to one of the many other options. Chick-fil-a is heaven sent in more ways than one. Even though I and I feel like the rest of the population crave those delicious nuggets on Sundays, I highly respect the organization for sticking to its values and closing on Sunday.
Fun Fact: I learned this semi-recently and this might be well known to most people reading this but if you order a kids meal, you get a free ice cream if you trade in the toy! And at 21 who needs the toy?! You Midwesters, you’re welcome!
